The Turkish Film Festival Berlin regards itself as a promoter of mutual intercultural understanding and as a bridge between cultures. Within the framework of the festival, cultural similarities and differences are sensitively addressed through the medium of film and its emotionally appealing presentation, wherein a dialogue is created.

The Turkish Film Festival Berlin has set itself the goal of showing a selection of outstanding arthouse films from Turkey or Turkish production realized by internationally successful artists as weil as new talents of different ethnic backgrounds, both in historical retrospect and with current productions who address important, current issues.

With regard to the selection of films of any genre and the selection of filmmakers, we emphasize with great importance the diversity and variety and gear our program towards it. The programming of the arthouse films ranges from queer to experimental to romantic drama and exciting thriller.
